Week #13 - Spider Web and Conga Lines

Today we lay down lines, tied knots and bought objects to life.

We created a spider web of tangled life lines.

Our lines interacted.

We allowed ourselves to unravel to an audience of empty chairs.

'Catherine, who am I?'

'You're yourself?'

'Who are you?'

'I'm hungry.'

Catherine weaved in and out of the lines like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.

Inside the web is where conga lines happen and prayers are said for lost loved ones.

When lines are crossed, tension is created.

'I am in charge! Sit down and behave.'

Outside the lines reality hits and tea breaks happen.

Today our lines had purpose and direction.

And as for the tension that tries to pull us apart, it can only knot us tighter together.

This is a reflective diary following Catherine and Nathalie's creative exchange exploring how performance can promote equality between artists with and without learning disabilities.

During today's session we were joined by movement director, Emily Holt.
