Review of Bloom 10 Worlds by Kelly
As part of The Bridge Project , This New Ground have been researching and developing new, inclusive collaborative methods of digital music-making via online platforms with our community of learning disabled artists. As part of our R&D, This New Ground’s participant, Kelly, has been collaborating with community musician, Sam Dook, to explore and implement new digital tool-kits and resources to enable Kelly to create and share original compositions. Kelly loves to meditate and practise yoga in her free time and during her collaboration with Sam she plans to create an ambient soundtrack to accompany her yoga. As part of the project, This New Ground have provided Kelly with an iPad and a suite of music-making applications to experiment with. Over the past week Kelly has been exploring Bloom 10 Worlds app. Bloom 10 Worlds is a new and hugely expanded version of musician Brian Eno and software designer Peter Chilver’s classic generative music app, Bloom. In Bloom: 10 Worlds, users are able to make a range of ambient and never-ending music with just their fingertips. Kelly hopes to layer some of the sounds from the different worlds into her yoga music. Below is Kelly’s review of the Bloom 10 Worlds.
Kelly’s Review
All the worlds have soft sounds like bells with lots of different colours, like purples, blues, pinks, greens, yellows, oranges, reds, greys and whites. I like how all the colours keep changing. I like the settings because I can stop and pause when I want to. I like the erase button best. When I’m using the app I feel like I am the one in charge.
“I would recommend people to use Bloom 10 Worlds App because it is very easy.”
