About High Vis Sculpture

This New Ground’s High Vis Sculpture is an exuberant and colourful work of art celebrating the creativity of people withlearning disabilities across Hammersmith and Fulham, exhibited at Riverside Studios from 17-26 June, with a public launch event on Tuesday 21 June.

In 2021, This New Ground joined forces with acclaimed disabled digital artist, Jason Wilsher-Mills to co-create a unique work of art. Imagined over a series of online workshops, the result is this striking 10-foot inflatable sculpture.

The highly decorated sculpture features the landmarks and history of Hammersmith & Fulham, as well as drawings and words by This New Ground Collective’ members. It’s an expression of vibrance, pride and the desire for visibility shared by the borough’s learning-disabled residents.

On Tuesday 21 June at 4pm, Riverside Studios will be joined by the artist, Jason Wilsher-Mills and This New Ground Collective, for a public launch party celebrating the High Vis Sculpture.

“It was awesome working with Jason. Seeing our sculpture in real life was amazing. I am so proud of what we all made together.” - Labake - Project participant and This New Ground Collective member
