Shared Lines

June - October 2026

Shared Lines is a new international partnership between This New Ground (UK) and kaethe:k Kunsthaus (Germany), connecting artists with a learning disability across Portsmouth, London and Cologne. Through two residencies in 2026, we’ll explore visual-first, non-verbal creative collaboration - testing new ways of working across language, culture and different models of inclusive practice.

Together, we’ll co-create workshops, exchange ideas, and produce a bilingual zine and toolkit to support accessible international collaboration - placing artists with a learning disability firmly in the lead.

“Cultural Bridge shows what’s possible when artists and communities come together across borders to share ideas and spark new ways of working. We’re proud to support the fifth year of partnerships between England and Germany that build skills, strengthen creative practice, and put the public at the heart of international cultural exchange.”

- Simon Mellor, Deputy Chief Executive, Arts & Museums at Arts Council England
